TROY, MI – Effective immediately, the boil water alert impacting northwest Troy has been cancelled.
Water sources from the impacted area have tested clean and safe for consumption.
The boil water alert began when a large water main broke on South Boulevard west of Dequindre on Sunday. The cause of the break is still being investigated. The water main is owned and operated by the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA).
The City of Troy and GLWA have worked together to ensure that this matter is resolved in the safest and most expedient manner possible. Rigorous standards of testing have been adhered to and all water tests taken in the last 48 hours have yielded a clean result.
The effective resolution of this matter can be attributed to collaboration between several City departments, the GLWA and residents. City management wishes to the thank residents and business owners for their cooperation.
