TROY, MI – Troy Police, in conjunction with the Troy School District, are investigating implied threats made via social media to carry out a school shooting.
The threats were made by a 15 year old student at Troy High School. No direct threats were made to Troy High School or any other school.
Police and school officials were made aware of the threats this morning. A school and criminal investigation was initiated immediately.
At this point, it is not believed that the juvenile had any means to carry out this threat. It is suspected that other juveniles may have been aware of the threats. The investigation is open.
Increased police patrols at Troy High School will continue until this matter is resolved. The Police Department and Troy School District will continue to work together closely to ensure the highest standard of school safety.
