Detroit Police seek Assistance in West Side Ambush on Officers

DETROIT, MI – Detroit Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating three suspects wanted in connection with the shooting that occurred on the west side of the city on Wednesday morning.

At 10:30 a.m. on November 30th, 2016, officers from the Twelfth Precinct, who were on routine patrol, and were heading eastbound on Remington near Derby, when they heard several shots being fired in the area.  As they continued to advance eastbound on Remington, officers observed a male suspect, armed with a long gun, possibly an AK-47, who started firing shots at the officers.  After firing the shots, the suspect fled the location.  No injuries were reported.

Wanted:

The suspect is a black male, wearing all black with a white t-shirt underneath his jacket.  The vehicle that the suspect fled the area in is believed to be an older model 4 door gray Chrysler.

Investigators believe two others were involved in the incident.
