PONTIAC, MI – A 35-year-old Oakland County man has died after his friends dropped him off at the hospital with no explanation of what was wrong with him.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to McLaren Oakland Hospital, at 11:30 p.m., on December 21, 2016, for a death investigation.
Deputies were advised that two men told emergency room staff that they had a friend outside in their car that was unresponsive and not breathing. The two men left without giving any information about what happened to the victim. The victim was pronounced dead at McLaren Oakland Hospital.
The victim was identified by his driver’s license. He was a resident of Pontiac. The deceased subject was examined by medical staff and deputies at the scene. There were no signs of trauma to the victim’s body.
Security was able to review video surveillance of the two male subjects driving a red, late model Ford Taurus. That vehicle was located by patrol deputies, at approximately 4:15 a.m., in front of a house in the 80 block of S Francis Street in Pontiac.
Deputies detained four subjects for questioning who were inside of that house, including the two subjects who were seen at the hospital. After interviewing the subjects it was learned that the dead man most likely died of a drug overdose. An autopsy is pending.
The two subjects, who had been seen at the hospital, were lodged at the Oakland County Jail on unrelated outstanding warrants. The investigation continues.
