TROY, MI – A Troy Officer initiated a traffic stop on a blue 2007 Ford Focus that was westbound on East Long Lake Road west of Dequindre that was being driven erratically on Friday, December 30th, 2016 at approximately 10:00 p.m.
The officer spoke with the driver, a 73-year-old woman from Ferndale, and noted an odor of alcohol emanating from inside the vehicle. When asked, the driver admitted to consuming two alcoholic drinks while at a party.
The driver was asked to perform several sobriety evaluations to which she did but the officer noted that she performed poorly. She submitted to a Preliminary Breath Test with a result of .207%.
She was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Anyone driving with a BAC over 0.17 percent is considered to be driving ‘Super Drunk’.
