Shawn Wayne Miller, 39-years-old, of Trenton, was arrested in a child sex sting after he arranged to meet with who he thought was an underage girl, but who was actually an undercover detective.
Detectives assigned to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Computer Crimes unit noticed an advertisement posted on a popular website, according to police.
The officer posed as an underage person who answered the advertisement and engaged in an online chat with the Shawn Miller. Police say Miller expressed a willingness to meet with who he thought was an underage female for the purposes of sexual activity.
Miller is accused of sending text to the girl and driving to a pre-arranged location to meet in Macomb County. He was arrested when he arrived at that location.
Shawn Miller is now facing charges of child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to communicate with another to commit a crime, and accosting a child for immoral purposes.
He remains locked up in the Macomb County Jail on a $75,000 cash bond, and is due back in court on Monday, February 6th, 2017.
