Man Flees Home in Boxers Shorts after Wife beats him in Leelanau County

LAKE LEELANAU, MI – The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 29 year old female after an incident in the Village of Lake Leelanau.

On Valentines Day, February 14th, 2017, at 7:12 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on St. Joseph Street after a 30-year-old man fled his home on West Meinrad Street wearing only his boxer shorts and socks. The victim was located inside a relatives home suffering from injuries to his face and side of his body. The male victim stated he and his wife had verbally argued and then his wife became violent. The victim stated his wife struck him several times with her fist in the face and scratched him on his body. The victim stated he refrained from striking back but instead fled the home on foot.

Deputies found the female suspect, a 29 year old woman, at the home on West Meinrad Street. Also home during the incident were three children ranging in age from 11-14 years of age along with the suspect’s father whom is blind. After interviewing the female suspect, she was placed under arrest for domestic assault. She was lodged in the Leelanau County Jail.

The male victim was transported to Munson Hospital by family members for treatment of an eye injury.
