22 yr old Sentenced in Lapeer County Murder

LAPEER, MI – On Saturday, January 16th, 2016, at 1:38 AM, Lapeer County 911 received a report of a car fire/explosion on Kings Mill Road near Cedar Creek Road in North Branch. Arcadia Township Fire Department and Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies responded.Andrew Hall

After the fire was extinguished, a deceased individual was discovered in the Ford Taurus. The death quickly became a homicide investigation.

The deceased victim was identified as Miguel Harvey, 23-years-old, from Port Huron.

Harvey was employed second shift at a factory in Imlay City and friends with co-worker by the name of Andrew Hall.  Hall is 21-years-old and is from North Branch.

Later that afternoon, deputies established contact with Andrew Hall at his residence in North Branch. As the investigation progressed, Hall was taken into custody and lodged in the Lapeer County Jail.

On Sunday, January 17th, 2017, this case was presented to Lapeer County Prosecutor who formally criminally charged Andrew Hall with first degree premeditated murder, tampering with evidence, and fourth degree arson.

Later that day, Andrew Hall was arraigned by 71-A District Court Magistrate Greg Wise. Andrew Hall’s bond was set at one million dollars and he remains in custody at the Lapeer County Jail.

Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies took Andrew Hall from North Branch into custody the same day. Andrew Hall was formally charged with Homicide-1st degree.

A plea resolution was entered prior to Hall’s trial (Homicide-2nd degree).

On Monday 02-13-2017, 40th Circuit Court Honorable Judge Holowka sentenced Andrew Hall, 22-years-old, to 17 years minimum to 40 years with the Michigan Department of Corrections.
