27 yr old Twin Brothers Shot; 1 Dead in Detroit

DETROIT, MI – Twin brothers, Laron and Lashun Walden, sitting in separate vehicles, were shot at in the parking of the Whittier Market on Detroit’s east side.

One of those brothers, Laron Walden, has since died and the other continues to fight for his life in the hospital.  He is in critical condition.

The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 17th, 2017.

The hash tags #RipTiny and #GetwellsoonBiGG started popping up on Facebook almost immediately following the news of the shooting and that this young man had lost his life.

One of the brothers was sitting in a 2016 Dodge Challenger and the other was sitting in a burgundy Hyundai Elantra. The gunman walked up and open fire on both vehicles.  The motive is unknown at this time.  Police are still working on details of this murder.  It is unclear if the brothers were targeted.

No one is in custody.

Another multiple shooting in the City of Detroit rang out on the northwest side early Sunday morning, February 19th, 2017, on 8 Mile Road near the Southfield Freeway.
