MSP finds Large Amount of Marijuana during Traffic Stop

BROWSTOWN TOWNSHIP, MI – On Tuesday, February 28th, 2017, at approximately 4 35 p.m., troopers assigned to the Special Enforcement Section, Hometown Security Team, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on I-75 southbound near Gibraltar Road in Brownstown Township on a 2016 Dodge Dart for following too closely. 

Upon making contact with the driver, troopers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.  A probable cause search was conducted and troopers located approximately 45 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle.

The driver, a 25 year old male from West Bloomfield, stated that he was headed to Toledo, Ohio with the marijuana. The driver was arrested and lodged for PWID Marijuana at a local jail pending prosecutors review.
