Four Charged in Murder of Genesee County Man found in Trunk of Car

CORUNNA, MI – Four people have now been arrested and charged in the murder of a Caro man who was found dead in the trunk of his car at a softball park on Thursday, April 6th, 2017.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., on April 6th, local police found the body of Freddie Porter, 42-years-old, of Caro, in the trunk of a 2011 Chevy Malibu, in the parking lot of the Mitchell Softball Park in Corunna.

According to Michigan State Police the murder was drug related. They are alleging that the murder occurred in Flint and that Porter’s body and car were taken to Corunna where they were abandoned at the ball park.

Ojwjuan Jamal King, 33-years-old, Wesley James Wilson, 25-years-old, and Hillery Aaron Marshall, 27-years-old, all of Flint, face charges of open murder, tampering with evidence and felony firearm possession. The fourth person arrested in the murder is Darius Dewan Scott, 31-years-old, of Flint.  He  is charged with one count of tampering with evidence and one count of accessory to a felony after the fact.  King, Wilson and Marshall are also named as co-defendants in Darius Scott’s case.

Ojwjuan King, Wesley Wilson and Hillery Marshall, are being held in the Genesee County Jail without bond.  Darius Scott is being held on two $15,000 cash/surety bonds.

Based on records from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Ojwjuan King was previously convicted on charges of:

  • Weapons – Carrying Concealed
  • Controlled Substance-Possess Narcotic/Cocaine < 25 Grams
  • Asslt w/Int Gr Bod Hrm Less Murder

Darius Scott has previous convictions for:

  • Home Invasion – 2nd Degree
  • Criminal Sexual Conduct, 3rd Deg (Force or Coercion)
