33 yr old Man Shot to Death on Detroit’s East side

DETROIT, MI – One man is dead this morning after what witnesses said was a shootout between two men in Detroit on May 17th, 2017.

Early Tuesday morning a gun battle erupted between two men around 2:30 a.m. near Chester Street and Harper Avenue.  That is very near I-94 and Morang Avenue on the east side of the city.

One man, who is being identified as Christopher Marcilis, 33-years-old, of Detroit, was found face down dead in a parking lot near Bobz Bar.  Marcilis had been shot in the back of the head.

A car that had multiple bullet holes in it and reported to be that of Marcilis’ girl friend, was located not far from where his body was at in the alley. Police have located some 50 bullet casings at the crime scene that were fired from both Marcilis’ gun and from the gun of the man who shot and killed him during the shootout.

The person who shot and killed Christopher Marcilis has not been identified at this time and no one is in custody for the murder.
