DETROIT, MI – Antonio Banks, 30-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged in connection with a fatal car crash that killed a father and his 10-year-old daughter.
On May 14, 2017 at approximately 11:45 p.m. it is alleged that Banks was driving his car at a high rate of speed while intoxicated with a male in the front passenger seat at Linwood and Glendale in Detroit. Banks is further alleged to have crashed his car into the car of George Noble, 53-years-old, of Detroit and his ten-year-old daughters in the rear passenger seat and female in the front passenger seat while they were stopped at the traffic signal at Linwood and Glendale.
Banks’s car then struck another car driven by a male with a female in the front passenger seat that was travelling southbound on Linwood with the impact causing him to roll his car over. All of the parties were conveyed to a local hospital for treatment. Mr. Noible and his ten-year-old daughter died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Banks is charged with two counts each of the following charges: Second Degree Murder, Operating while Intoxicated Causing Death, Operating while Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury, Reckless Driving Causing Impairment of Body Function. Due to the serious injuries sustained by the defendant he could not be arraigned on the day the charges were issued. Banks was arraigned in the in the hospital and remains there under police custody. His probable cause conference will be held on May 30,2017 at 8:30 a.m. and his preliminary examination will be held on June 6, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.
