DETROIT, MI – Timothy Remon Gomez, 25-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged with Receiving and Concealing a Motor Vehicle, Fleeing and Eluding 3rd Degree , Resisting and Obstructing the Police, and Driving Without a License.
On June 4, 2017 at approximately 6:43 p.m.it is alleged that Timothy Gomez was driving on I-96 near Grand River when a Michigan State police officer ran the license plate and discovered the car was stolen.
The officer attempted to have Gomez pull over to investigate when the he sped away at a high rate of speed . When Gomez attempted to turn west on to Martin Luther King Boulevard he crashed and disabled the car. The defendant exited the car and fled on foot. He was located and arrested in an abandoned house nearby.
Gomez was arraigned today in 36th District Court before Magistrate Laura Echartea. The probable cause conference is scheduled for June 13, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Dana Hathaway in 36th District Court. No preliminary exam date has been set. The defendant received a $15,000/10% bond.
