Detroit Man Charged in Braille Street Murder

DETROIT, MI – Willie L. Wilborn, 29-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged in connection with the murder of LaDiamond Myers, 24-years-old, also of Detroit.

During the evening of Wednesday June 28th, 2017, Wilborn and Myers had a domestic dispute in their home located in the 15400 block of Braille Street. It is alleged that Wilborn used blunt force to the head of Ms. Myers.

On Thursday June 29th, 2017, at 9:06 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a vacant house also located in the 15400 block of Braille where they discovered the lifeless body of LaDiamond Myers.

The house where Myers was located is said to be where she and her children were living at even though information from the Wayne County Prosecutors Office has the house described as vacant.

Willie Wilborn has two previous felony convictions on his record based on information from the Michigan Department of Corrections for:

  • Criminal Sexual Conduct, 4th Deg (Person 13 -16) – Convicted in 2011
  • Copying Audio/Video Recordings for Gain – Misdemeanor – Convicted in 2012

Wilborn has been charged with First Degree Murder and is expected to be arraigned at 2:30 p.m. In 36th District Court today.
