3 Separate Incidents put Downstate Men in Jail

KALKASKA COUNTY, MI – Over the weekend, Michigan State Police from the Houghton Lake Post, during three separate traffic stops, arrested three people from south east Michigan.

Michigan State Police arrested a 26-year-old Garden City man overnight for driving while under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana.  His vehicle was stopped in the village of Kalkaska late Sunday for excessive speeding through town.  Troopers investigated further and found he had been drinking alcohol and admittedly smoking marijuana just before driving.  He was lodged at the Kalkaska County Jail.

On 7-28-17 a 34 year old man from Garden City MI was stopped for traveling 92 MPH on M-72 Kalkaska Twp, Kalkaska County. The Subsequent investigation found the man to operating while intoxicated and operating a vehicle without security. The man was lodged at the Kalkaska county jail without incident.

Michigan State Police arrested the driver a 54 year old man from Houghton Lake and a 30 year old man from Macomb County who was the passenger in the vehicle.  The arrest happened in Roscommon County, Denton Township on 07/27/17.  Troopers stopped a vehicle on M-55 and found the driver to be operating on a suspended driver’s license.  Troopers also found the man’s passenger also had an outstanding warrant from Macomb County.  Both men were arrested and lodged at the Roscommon County Jail.
