Woman Sentenced in Fatal Crash that Killed 72 yr old Detroit Man

DETROIT, MI – Kellie Stock was convicted of Second Degree Murder and other charges in connection with the fatal car crash that killed a 72-year-old man at State Fair and Seven Mile in Detroit.

Today she was sentenced by Judge Mark Slavens to Operating While Under the Influence of Intoxicants Causing Death (along with other counts) to 19-50 years in prison.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Stock was driving on Woodward near State Fair around 2:15 p.m. when she struck 72-year-old Bennie Sims’ truck. Authorities allege Stock was intoxicated and speeding when the crash occurred.

She was charged with Second Degree Murder along with eight other driving related offenses.
