Sanilac County Driver Loses Control of Vehicle and ends up in a Pond

ELK TOWNSHIP, MI – On Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 12:35 p.m., Sanilac Central Dispatch received a 9­1­1 call from a citizen reporting a single vehicle accident on Marlette Road near Townline Road in Sanilac County’s Elk Township.

According to Deputy Laming, the vehicle, a 2014 Ford F­150 was being driven by 57-­year-­old Kelley Tresnek of Sandusky. The vehicle was westbound on Marlette Road when it left the roadway, entered the north ditch and continued west for several hundred yards.

It then re­entered the roadway and crossed over the roadway a second time and struck a garage located in the 1000 block of Marlette Road. After striking the garage the vehicle struck a propane tank and then came to rest in a pond. The driver was assisted out of the vehicle by two individuals who had witnessed the accident.

Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by Sandusky Fire Department and Sanilac EMS.
