MSP Caro Post to Host Citizens’ Academy


CARO, MI – The Michigan State Police (MSP) Caro Post is pleased to announce a Citizens’ Academy, which will start September 18, 2017 and end November 6, 2017.

The eight week lecture-based academy will give citizens the opportunity to become familiar with the mission and operation of the MSP, understand the procedures troopers follow, increase their awareness of law enforcement’s role in the community, and get to know personnel at the Caro Post.




The eight week academy will meet at the Tuscola Technology Center located at 1401 Cleaver Road in Caro on Monday evenings from 6:00 P.M to 8:30 P.M. A graduation ceremony will be held on November 6, 2017. Individuals who are interested in attending the Citizens’ Academy should contact Trooper Mark Swales of the Caro Post at (989) 673-2156 or via email at SwalesM@michigan.gov to receive an application. You must be 18 or older to apply and applications will be accepted until September 4, 2017.
