ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – It appears that the opiate drug crisis that has engulfed many counties throughout Michigan has claimed another life.
On Wednesday August 16th, 2017, at approximately 5:15PM, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and the City of Rochester Hills Fire Department responded to JAM Enterprises L.L.C in the 700 block of Barclay Circle on the report of an unconscious subject who was not breathing.
The victim, a 59-year-old man, from Rochester Hills, had been at the JAMS office for a court ordered drug and alcohol screening. A JAMS employee heard the victim fall in the bathroom and found him unresponsive and not breathing. JAMS employees attempted CPR.
Deputies and Rochester Hills Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and continued to administer life saving measures. Paramedics from the Rochester Hills Fire Department transported the victim to Ascension Crittenton Hospital where the victim was pronounced dead by a staff physician.
The victim’s drug and alcohol screen tested positive for opiates and benzodiazepines.
A detective responded to the hospital to continue with the investigation.
