Atlanta Murder Suspect Dwight Lewis captured in Detroit

DETROIT, MI – On Thursday, August 3rd, 2017, Dwight Lewis, 26-years-old, of Atlanta, Georgia was arrested without incident by FBI agents and Task force Officers of the Detroit FBI Violent Crime Task Force.

Lewis was wanted by the Atlanta Police Department where he is charged with murder in the February 2nd, 2017 homicide of a 16-year-old girl.

On Thursday, February 2nd, 2017, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Dwight Lewis is alleged to have fired several rounds from his semi-automatic handgun, as part of an altercation, into a vehicle with a 16-year-old female inside. Lewis pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and fired several shots at Keosha Tinch, including a fatal blow to the head.

Keosha Tinch, of Decatur, Georgia, died just a week and a half before her birthday.

The shooting occurred at the Deerfield Gardens Apartments located at 2909 Campbellton Road S.W., Atlanta.

Lewis was being detained at the Wayne County Detention Facility in Detroit where he awaited extradition proceedings back to Atlanta.
