AMBER TOWNSHIP, MI – On Friday, September 1st, 2017, at 12:50 PM, emergency crews responded to a 2-vehicle crash on US10 at Stiles Road in Mason County’s Amber Township.
The crash occurred when a pickup truck rear ended a semi-truck which was stopped for a red traffic light. Preliminary findings indicate the pickup truck never braked prior to impact, killing the pickup truck driver.
In light of recent traffic crashes on US10, MCSO had two patrol units in the area, one in Scottville and the other in the area of Meyers Road and US10, with additional deputies scheduled to work overtime this afternoon on US10. The first deputy arrived on the scene within 3 minutes.
Names are being withheld at this time pending notification of family. The semi-truck driver was un-injured.
MCSO deputies were assisted at the scene by MSP-Hart Post, Scottville Police Department, Scottville FD, Custer Jaws, and Life EMS.
