WESTLAND, MI – Westland Police have been able to identify two women who allegedly stole items from a veteran’s store for disabled military service members in late July.
Westland Police asked for help from residents in the metro area to help identify the two thieving women when they posted to Facebook a video from the store. The two subjects believed to be responsible for a retail fraud in which over $100 of merchandise was stolen.
The retail fraud occurred at the Disabled American Veteran’s store located at 8050 N. Middlebelt on July 29th, 2017.
The subjects went inside display counters and removed items. The two later left the store without paying for any of the merchandise. They were seen leaving the store in a newer model white or cream colored SUV, possibly a Ford Edge, with handicapped plates.
On September 7th Westland Police updated the public by posting the following message to Facebook:
