Flags to be lowered for Patriot Day in Memory of 9-11 victims

LANSING, MI  – Gov. Rick Snyder today is joining President Donald Trump’s call to lower U.S. and Michigan flags to half-staff Monday, Sept. 11 in remembrance of the lives lost 16 years ago.

“Patriot Day honors the innocent lives lost in the 2001 terrorist attacks. We will never forget the bravery of the first responders and the resilience of the American people who showed incredible courage that fateful day. As the flags are lowered, let’s remember and pray for the 2,977 lives lost and their families.

“To the heroic men and women in the armed forces – those currently serving, veterans, and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice – thank you for protecting our freedom. Michigan is also incredibly grateful for our local first responders who work diligently day and night to keep our communities safe.”
