DEARBORN, MI – During a press conference on Thursday morning, September 21st, 2017, Dearborn Police highlighted three cases that they need information about and they are asking for help from the public.
The first case happened on Friday June 30th, 2017. Dearborn officers responded to the area of Michigan Avenue near Gulley on a report of a larceny from a vehicle.
After reviewing surveillance footage it was determined that the suspect entered multiple unlocked commercial vans parked in the area and stole assorted tools and a tool box. The suspect was observed on camera walking in multiple locations around the Michigan & Gulley area, indicating that he may be living or staying in the area.
The suspect is described as an older white male, balding with short white hair wearing glasses. Video shows the suspect wearing a red or brown flannel shirt with graphics on the front (possibly a Native American photograph), gray shorts and white Nike shoes. It appears the suspect has tattoos on both of his arms.
The second case involves a beauty supply store.
On Saturday August 26th, 2017, at 8:40 pm, five black males entered the Kay Beauty Supply store at 7746 Wyoming and robbed the store at gunpoint.
The suspects, (4 masked/1 without a mask) were armed with shotguns and handguns as they demanded that the employees give them money from the cash register and safe. The employees sustained non-life threatening injuries, however no shots were fired. During the assault the suspects took numerous beauty product items.
After the robbery, the suspects exited the business and entered a black Chevrolet Tahoe that was reported stolen prior to this incident.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “Crimes of this nature are particularly disturbing because the suspects showed no regard for the safety of the employees. Crimes like this will not be tolerated. We are urging the public to come forward with information regarding this incident.”
Dearborn Police want to locate John William Evans concerning this crime. Evans is alleged to have committed an armed robbery on August 26, 2017 in the City of Dearborn. The Dearborn police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Evans.
The last crime is about a home invasion.
Dadontae Owens and two other unidentified men are alleged perpetrators of a Home Invasion and multiple Larcenies from Vehicles on September 16, 2017. Dearborn Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Owens, a 19 year old Detroit resident, as well as the other two men in the above photograph.
