DETROIT, MI – An 83-year-old woman was scammed out of a large amount of money and Detroit Police need your help to identify the suspect.
The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a female suspect wanted for a larceny that occurred on the city’s west side.
On Wednesday September 6th, 2017, at approximately 12:15 p.m., in the 22000 block of W 8 Mile, a female suspect approached an 83 year old female victim. The suspect offered to split a bag containing a large sum of money with the victim if she added 10k to the bag. The victim agreed to the transaction and withdrew the cash from the bank, while accompanied by the female suspect.
The victim went inside a location, leaving the suspect and money in her car. When she returned to her vehicle to exchange the monies, the female suspect had taken all of the cash and fled from the location.
The female suspect entered an older model purple Ford Taurus driven by an unknown male.
