Suspected drunk driver injures two Detroit Officers after blowing Red Light


DETROIT, MI – Two Detroit Police Officers are recovering today from injuries that they sustained in a car crash caused by a suspected drunk driver on Thursday, October 12th, 2017.

A man driving a Dodge Magnum blew through a red light at Schoenherr and Eastburn, at approximately 9:00PM, Thursday evening, where the man then slammed into a scout car that was occupied by two officers from the Detroit Police Department.




The two officers were both taken to a local hospital after the accident for treatment of their injuries. They are listed in stable condition.

The 31-year-old driver of the Dodge Magnum was taken into custody at the scene.

Officials say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
