GILMORE TOWNSHIP, MI – On Sunday, October 29th, 2017, 10:33AM, Isabella County Sheriff’s Deputies were investigating a domestic call in the 3000 Block of West Bawkey Road in the Gilmore Twp area.
When deputies arrived, they witnessed a 21-year-old male suspect, from Farwell, exit a bedroom window and flee on foot.
Deputies were unable to locate him as he fled the residence. Deputies stayed in the area and continued to look for the suspect. Eventually a deputy observed a vehicle that was owned by the man in the domestic assault at a nearby intersection. As the deputy attempted to stop the 2005 Buick LaCrosse, it fled for a short distance before crashing and rolling over.
When the deputy arrived at the vehicle he discovered the man to be unconscious in the vehicle. The deputy could not gain access to the driver, so a window was attempted be broken out. As the deputy was doing this the man woke up and unlocked the door. The man was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.
The deputy also sustained minor cuts and bruising while attempting break the window open to gain access to the driver. He was treated at the hospital and released.
The 21-year-old man was later released from the hospital and was immediately arrested.
