Ypsilanti Man Charged with Murder of Inkster Resident

INKSTER, MI – On Wednesday November 1st, 2017, at about 6:00AM, MSP Special Investigation Section (SIS) Detectives and MSP Secure Cities Partnership troopers were called to 28662 Parkwood for a man, Mickael Easterling who had been shot multiple times.

Upon arrival Michigan State Police found that man, Mickael James Easterling, 34-years-old, dead in his driveway next to a GMC Yukon.

Police believe that Lonnie Hodges shot and killed Mickael Easterling over a domestic issue.

On November 6, 2016, the suspect in that murder, Lonnie Edward Hodges, 41-years-old, from Ypsilanti, was arraigned in the Inkster District court on the following charges: 1- Homicide- Murder first degree- premeditated. 2-Weapons – firearms- possession by felon 3- Weapons- felony firearm.

Based on records from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Lonnie Hodges has previous convictions for:

  • Interfering with Electronic Communications
  • Assault with Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault)
  • Asslt w/Int Gr Bod Hrm Less Murder
  • Unlawfully Driving Away an Automobile
  • Bank Robbery
  • Stolen Property – R/C $1000 or More But Less Than $20,000

Hodges started racking up felony convictions beginning in 1997.

He was ordered to be held at the Wayne County Jail with no bond pending further court proceedings.
