2 yr old found in Grand Rapids Motel in parental abduction case out of Wexford County

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Michigan State Police had been searching for a 2-year-old girl who they say was abducted by her mother and the mother’s boyfriend. That little girl has been found and her mother, Brittany Denise Gerschoffer,  and the mother’s boyfriend, Travis Scott Jordan, have been arrested.

Carter Grace Gerschoffer had last been seen in Cadillac on the morning of Thursday November 2nd, 2017, with her mother, Brittany  Gerschoffer, and her mother’s boyfriend, Travis Jordan.

The vehicle the three were last seen in was found abandoned in the Meijer parking lot in Cadillac that very same afternoon. Investigators believed they were picked up at Meijer and given a ride by an unknown person.

Brittany Gerschoffer has family in the St. Joseph area and Travis Jordan has family in the Grand Rapids area, according to officials.

Deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Department, acting on a tip, located the 2-year-old girl, Carter Gerschoffer, and two adults at a motel near Grand Rapids.

The little girl was located unharmed and turned over to a family member.

The two adults have been arrested and are pending arraignment in District Court in Wexford County.
