LUDINGTON, MI – On Monday November 13th, 2017, at about 2:50PM, Mason County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 62-year-old Scottville man on charges of resisting and obstructing following a 911 report from the Scottville EZ Mart reporting a man behind the business “covered in blood”.
Deputies arrived and learned from witnesses the subject had wandered around the business and entered a car and sat in the back seat. He then left and reportedly went to a trailer next door. Deputies found blood in the yard, steps and front door of that trailer.
The Deputies knocked on the door of the trailer and made contact with the 62 year-old man who reportedly rushed at the officers screaming at them. He then fought with the deputies in the yard. He was taken into custody.
The officers eventually made contact with a total of 4 persons, all of whom were highly intoxicated.
The officers were trying to determine the source or reason for so much blood that they had discovered during the beginning of their investigation.
The deputies came to learn that the blood had come from a deer that had been struck and killed by a car in front of the trailer home where the officers found the four drunk individuals. Apparently the four had cut meat off the carcass and were cooking venison. You’re correct, you just can’t make this stuff up….
