3 Teens Charged in Flint Township Murder

FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI – Three Genesee County teenagers have been charged in connection to a murder that occurred in Flint Township on Sunday, November 12th, 2017.

Michael Allen Saylor, 17-years-old, is charged in the shooting death of Xavier Johnson on West Dayton Street while Alex Alton Mills, 19-years-old and Tony Joseph Mireles II, 19-years-old, were each charged with felonies related to the incident that left their friend dead.

According to Flint Township Police investigative reports, the incident was the end result of an ongoing dispute between the three defendants, the deceased, and others related to the theft of marijuana from Saylor’s mother’s house days prior.

In the days following the marijuana theft, threats of retaliation and violence were exchanged between those charged and others. Violence ensued resulting in Johnson being shot and killed.

Mills is charged with one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

Mirelese is charged with 8 felony counts including discharging a firearm from a vehicle, conspiracy to discharge a firearm from a vehicle, three counts of felony firearm, two counts of discharging a firearm at a building, and aggravated stalking.

Saylor is charged with 10 felony counts including felony murder, first degree premeditated murder, assault with intent to murder, aggravated stalking, discharging a firearm at a building, and five counts of felony firearm.

The three defendants are being held in the Genesee County jail and will be arraigned in 67th District Court.

“This is another senseless shooting in our community that has left another young man from Genesee County dead,” said Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton.

“Today, deadly violence as a way to resolve conflict seems to have become second nature to some young people in our community and it is extremely troubling to say the least,” he said. “We will do all we can in this case to see justice through,” he said.
