Breaking and Entering Reported at Food Town Grocery Store in Temperance

TEMPERANCE, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone is reporting a Breaking and Entering complaint that occurred on the early morning hours of Saturday, November 18th, 2017.

At about 1:00AM, Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Bedford Contract Unit were dispatched to the Food Town Grocery Store at 8926 Lewis, Ave Temperance MI in reference to several business alarms being activated from inside the store.

When Deputies arrived at the scene they found that the grocery store had been broken into, along with the Anson’s Pharmacy, which is located inside of the store. During the incident the suspects were able to steal a safe as well as a large quantity of medications.

Video surveillance from the store security camera shows that three subjects were involved in the incident, all three were wearing sweatshirts with hoods and face masks. Video surveillance also showed that the suspect vehicle was a light in colored SUV.

A review of the video surveillance showed that several cars passed by the Grocery Store at the time the Breaking and Entering had occurred. If anyone has information related to this incident or remembers driving by the store on the early morning hours of Saturday between about 12:45AM and 1:00AM, they are asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at (734-240-7530).
