CLARKSTON, MI – An 18-year-old man was arrested after he stole money from the Clarkston McDonald’s by getting to the cash register through the drive-thru window and its all caught on camera.
At about 2:00AM on Wednesday November 22nd, 2017, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the McDonalds located in the 5600 block of Sashabaw Rd on the report that there were two male suspects at the business and one of the subjects had stolen money by reaching into the cash register through the drive through window.
Prior to the Deputy’s arrival, the suspect fled on foot while the second suspect was detained.
The suspect was last seen running eastbound across Sashabaw Road before the complainant lost sight of him. A perimeter was established by Deputies while others conducted a search of several adjacent businesses, neighborhoods and side roads.
A K-9 was requested to assist in the search. A K-9 unit was available from the City of Troy Police Department and responded to the scene. Shortly before the K-9 unit’s arrival, the 18-year-old suspect was located and was taken into custody.
The suspect was searched and Deputies recovered the stolen money, $24.00, and found a quantity of Marijuana in his pockets.
The suspect was transported to the Oakland County Jail where he was lodged pending the issuance of criminal charges.
The second suspect was released as it was determined he was not involved.
