Police investigating Stolen Mail in Bingham Farms

VILLAGE OF BINGHAM FARMS, MI – The Franklin – Bingham Farms Police Department is investigating numerous thefts of mail that occurred in the past few weeks.

Mostly, thefts of outgoing mail from residential mailboxes have been targeted, and checks written by residents and placed in the outgoing mail have been stolen. It is recommended that residents use the mailbox at a Post Office for any outgoing mail that may include checks or some other financial instruments.

Additionally, all residents are requested to report to the police any suspicious activity observed around mailboxes in our two villages. As we get closer to the holiday season thefts of packages and mail become more prevalent, so all residents are asked to be vigilant in reporting suspicious activity to the police department via 911 or (248) 626-5444. Questions regarding this matter can be directed to Detective/Sgt. Mike Bastianelli, (248) 626-9672.
