Man Identified in Murder on Nashville St in Detroit

DETROIT, MI – A Detroit man is being identified as the person who was shot and killed on Nashville St in Detroit Thursday evening.

One man, Javon Parker, 26-years-old, who had the social media name of East Warren, was shot and killed while a total of five were hit by gunfire in the 11000 block of Nashville Street on Thursday, November 30th, 2017.

The crime scene is near the Coleman A. Young International Airport.

Four men and one woman were victims to the drive-by shooting on the east side of the city.

The remaining four survivors were taken to a local hospital.  One of the men is in critical condition. The three other victims are in stable condition.

The Detroit Police Homicide Unit along with the Gang Intelligence Unit were called to the scene.

Video from homes and businesses in the area are being looked at hoping to gain further information as to who the gunman may be.

Detroit Police believe that a dark colored Oldsmobile Alero was used in the shooting.  They are currently looking for that particular type of vehicle. “We do have information that the vehicle circled the block a couple of times, so, these individuals were definitely targeted. This was not a random act,” said Detroit Police Dept. Capt. Darren Szilagy.

No motive has been released by authorities as to why the shooting occurred.  Some have been speculating that it was some how drug related but no official word has come out yet.
