DETROIT, MI – A suspect in the fatal hit and run of a woman on Detroit’s west side has been taken into custody.
On Thursday, November 30th, 2017, at approximately 5:50 p.m. a 53-year-old woman was crossing the street on West Warren near Penrod when the suspect, driving a red Ford Explorer west bound on Warren, struck her and continue going.
The impact of the vehicle fatally wounded the woman.
Immediately after this incident, investigators from the Detroit Police Department’s Fatal Squad conducted an investigation and were able to identify and locate the suspect, 57-year-old man. At 1:40 a.m., this morning, the suspect was taken into custody without incident in the 6000 block of Stahelin. The suspect was transported to the Detroit Detention Center for processing.
A warrant package has been submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review and approval.
