Macomb County Morgue becomes Victim of Fake News

MT. CLEMENS, MI – On Wednesday December 6th, 2017, the Macomb County Morgue became the latest victim to fake news when it was reported that a Macomb County morgue employee was accidentally cremated when he took a nap and was mistaken for the dead.

After reading the initial article that set the phones to ringing off the hook at the morgue Wednesday morning, there was a huge clue that the story was indeed a lie or falsehood.

It came in the second paragraph of the story that stated “While he was sleeping, another employee mistook him for the corpse of a 52-year old car accident victim and carried him to the crematory.” It was the carrying him off part that caught our attention. Then there was the part of the story about the cremation.  Cremations are not done at the morgue.

Even the website itself is fake.  If you look at the URL it has the  -us in abcnews-us.com. The real URL to the real abcbews is abcnews.go.com

So for those concerned, no one has been harmed and all is operating as normal at the Macomb County Morgue. It was pure fiction.
