LIVONIA, MI – On November 5th the Livonia Police Department responded to a report of an Unarmed Robbery in the area of Six Mile and Haggerty Road.
The victim attempted to sell an I Phone 7 plus for $450 after advertising it for sale via a social media application. When the suspect arrived, the victim gave him the phone to inspect. The suspect shoved the victim and fled with the cell phone.
The investigation led to the identification of the suspect as Demarco Woods, 20-years-old, of Canton Township. Livonia detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Woods charging him with one count of Unarmed Robbery.
On December 2nd Woods was arrested without incident. Woods is scheduled to appear in the 16th District Court for a Preliminary Examination on December 21st.
The Livonia Police Department reminds you to use caution when selling or buying items using the internet. Keep in mind that as a community service they allow the public to use their parking lot or lobby as an Internet Transaction Safety Zone to conduct these type of transactions.
