MT. CLEMENS, MI – On December 1st, 2017, Macomb County Sheriff deputies took a solicitation of a minor report. A concerned mother reported that she believed a 30 year old man had contacted her 15 year old daughter online via social media and was attempting to have a sexual encounter with her.
On 12/6/17, a meet was arranged between the 30 year old man and the 15 year old girl. The man believed he was meeting with the 15 year old to have sexual relations with her which he requested multiple times over the course of several days. The man was aware that the girl was only 15 years of age.
At the agreed upon date and time, the man arrived at the location where undercover MACE detectives were waiting. The man, identified as Nicholas Aubert, 30-years-old, a resident of Fraser, was taken into custody without incident. Aubert arrived alone in a red Toyota Camry and was in possession of a box of condoms.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham reminds parents to stay vigilant when it comes to social media and who their children associate with. “Talk with your children about the dangers of the internet and risks of putting personal information onto the World Wide Web. Make them aware that strangers do not always have good intentions and that profiles are not always honest.”
Nicholas Aubert was lodged at the Macomb County Jail and is charged with one count of Children –Accosting for Immoral Purposes (4 year felony) and one count of Computers – Internet –Communicating With Another To Commit a Crime (10 year felony).
Aubert was arraigned today, 12/7/17, in the 41-B District Court of Clinton Township and given a $10,000.00 personal bond. Upon his release he is to be tethered on home confinement. He is scheduled to be back in the 41-B District Court on 12/20/17 at 1:30pm for a probable cause conference.
