COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI – On Monday December 11th, 2017, at approximately 2:24AM, Oakland County Sheriffs Deputies responded to the 2000 block of Union Lake Road, the Commerce Family Pharmacy, for a commercial burglary alarm.
Upon arrival, Deputies discovered that the front door had been pried open and the business had been ransacked. Deputies checked the interior of the business for any suspects possibly still in the building. The building was checked and cleared with no suspects located.
The business owner was contacted and responded to the scene. The business owner confirmed that only $50 was stolen from the cash register, which had been pried open by the suspects. The Pharmacy is a new business to the area and has not been stocked with any prescription drugs. An OCSO Evidence Technician responded to the scene and processed the scene for latent prints.
The business owner was able to retrieve footage from the surveillance cameras of the burglary. Three (3) unknown subjects can be seen on the surveillance video, two (2) are possibly black males and it appears that the suspects arrive at the business in two separate vehicles. The suspects are seen approaching the business and pry open the front door and enter the business. The suspects are seen wearing hats, gloves and masks. The suspects fled the area in the same two vehicles.
Oakland County Sheriff Office would like to identify and located three unknown males who broke into the building. They escaped in a dark colored sedan and a white SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe.
Based on an analysis of this video, the M.O. and the bag carried by the suspects this incident is likely related to similar pharmacy burglaries in City of Rochester Hills, Clinton Township in Macomb County and Bedford Township (Temperance) in Monroe County recently.
