Detroit Man Charged with Murdering his 8 month old Son

DETROIT, MI – A Detroit man has had charges against him amended to include two counts of murder in the death of his eight month old son.

On Thursday, December 13, 2017, Dominique Jones-Hardy, 31-years-old, of Detroit, was charged with Child Abuse First Degree and Child Abuse Second Degree, and arraigned on Friday December 15, 2017 receiving a $500,000 cash bond.

He is currently in the Wayne County Jail.

On December 11, 2017 at Hardy’s home in the 11600 block of Lang it is alleged that he abused his eight month old boy causing a severe head injury. The child was taken to a local hospital on December 12th for treatment and died on December 14th.

On December 16th the warrant was amended adding a charge of Felony Murder, Second Degree Murder, and the original child abuse charges.* Jones-Hardy will be arraigned on the new charges at his Probable Cause Conference in 36th District Court on December 21, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.
