Detroit Police working to Identify and Locate Suspect in North west side Armed Robbery

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a Person of Interest wanted in connection to an armed robbery which resulted in a shooting that occurred on the city’s northwest side.

On Sunday, December 19, 2017 at approximately 11:38 p.m., in the 19000 block of Rutherford, an armed suspect described as black male approached a 35-year-old female victim while she was sitting in a vehicle with another person and robbed her at gun point. As this was occurring, the victim’s  15-years-old son exited the side door of their home and the suspect fired one shot in his direction striking him.

The suspect took the female victims purse and fled in an unknown direction on foot. The 15-year-old was treated at a local hospital for nonfatal injuries.

The Person of Interest used the victim’s credit card which was taken by the suspect during the robbery and a nonfatal shooting.
