PONTIAC, MI – A 41-year-old Pontiac man was arrested after he severely assaulted his girlfriend by beating and nearly choking her to death.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies, at about 3:00am, responded to N. Edith Street to speak with a security guard who works at the apartment complex.
The security guard called 9-1-1 to report that he had seen a man “beating” a woman in the hallway and that he had found blood on the ground at the same location. Deputies observed a large amount of blood on the floor in the stairwell and several drops of blood leading them to a specific apartment. Deputies were advised that a male subject was inside of the apartment and they could hear other people inside with him. The door was forced open and Deputies located a man who was hiding under the bed.
The 41-year-old man, from Pontiac, was bleeding from the top of his hand and a 32 year old woman, from Pontiac, who was inside of the apartment appeared to be frightened and unable to speak due to an apparent injury to her jaw. Deputies called EMS for the woman who was able to communicate to them that her boyfriend had choked her, cut her hair off with a knife and had struck her several times with his fists.
The woman was transported by Paramedics from Star EMS to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital – Oakland for medical treatment. The victim was able to communicate to Deputies that her boyfriend, who did not live with her, also held a pillow over her face and said that he was going to kill her. None of the blood found outside of the apartment was from the victim’s injuries.
An OCSO Evidence Technician responded to process and collect evidence found at the scene. The suspect, Centennial Lamont Fuller, a 41-year-old man, from Pontiac, was transported to McLaren Hospital for the injury to his hand.
