LUDINGTON, MI – A 27-year-old man who is a wanted fugitive in Texas was arrested near Ludington recently.
On Wednesday January 3rd, 2018, deputies with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by members of the Bay City Texas Police Department and advised of a wanted fugitive from Texas that was believed to be in the Mason County area.
The following day, Thursday, at 12:37pm, MCSO deputies spotted the suspect vehicle traveling on US10 in the area of Meyers Road. A “felony” stop was conducted on the vehicle after learning the wanted person may have been armed with a handgun. No handgun was found.
A 27 year-old Van Vleck TX man was arrested without incident. He is currently being held in the Mason County Jail on a local charge of Furnishing False Information to a Police Officer.
He is wanted in Texas for:
• 2 count warrant charging Aggravated Robbery
• Family Violence
• Unlawful Restraint
• Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Once the local charge is cleared, extradition proceedings will begin to return the individual back to the authorities in Texas.
