On Thursday January 11th, 2018, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Murphy Park on Martin Luther King Boulevard for reports of a gunshot victim who was lying under the pavilion. Deputies discovered a male victim lying face down who appeared to have been shot in the back of the head.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Detectives responded to begin their investigation. The Sheriff’s Forensic Lab also responded to process the scene. During the investigation, a suspect was developed and his location was determined.
The suspect, a 25-year-old man, from Pontiac, was located in the 50 block of Gladstone Place. The Sheriff’s SWAT was activated and deployed to the address and shortly thereafter SWAT successfully apprehended the suspect who was transported for questioning.
The suspect was subsequently lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending charges.
