CHEBOYGAN, MI – An arrest warrant for Brandon Lee Hobson, 19-years-old, from Rapid City Michigan, was issued after the Michigan State Police Crime Lab identified two of his fingerprints that were lifted from property at two different locations stemming from vehicle break-ins last September.
“Deputies identified fingerprints at two locations and were able to send those prints to the lab; the lab then analyzed those prints, and came up with an exclusive match. One of the finger prints was located on a lock box in one of the vehicles that resulted in a safe breaking charge,” said Cheboygan County Sheriff Dale Clarmont.
The Sheriff’s Department was able to obtain an arrest warrant for Hobson and on January 5, 2018 Hobson was arrested in Midland County. It was learned that Hobson was in Cheboygan on vacation at the time the crimes occurred.
Hobson was charged with one count of safe breaking-a life felony; four counts of breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property under $200.00-misdemeanors; and two counts larceny less than $200.00-misdemeanors.
Hobson has been arraigned and his bond set at $25,000 cash with his next court appearance set for 9:00am on January 8, 2018.
