ST. JOSEPH, MI – On Friday, January 19th at 7:58 p.m., officers from the St. Joseph Township Police Department were dispatched to the area of 245 W. Napier in reference to a car/pedestrian accident.
Upon arrival officers were advised that a westbound vehicle, driven by Denelle Hunt, 64-years-old, of St. Joseph, had struck a pedestrian who had been walking in the roadway.
The victim, Brian Joseph Elftmann, 21-years-old, of St. Joseph, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
St. Joseph Township Police were assisted by the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety, Medic One, Berrien County Sheriffs Department Road Patrol and Accident Investigation Team and the St. Joseph Township Fire Dept.
