25 yr old Arrested in Critical Hit & Run on Detroit’s Westside

DETROIT, MI – On Saturday, January 21st, 2018, at approximately 5:00 a.m., in the area of Joy Road and Evergreen, the suspect was driving north bound in a Black, 2012, Dodge Charger, and disregarded a red light. As a result the suspect struck a 2006, Chevrolet, Impala, lost control of his vehicle, hit the wall of a Family Dollar Store then fled on foot.

The driver of the Impala, 19-year-old female victim was critically injured.

Through great investigative work and tips received from the public, the Detroit Police Departments Fatal Squad were able to identify and locate the suspect. On February 5, 2018, 25-years old male suspect, Lucious Cullen, was taken into custody without incident in the 3700 block of east 7 Mile.

On February 7, 2018, a warrant packet was submitted to the Wayne county prosecutor’s office for review and approval. As a result the suspect was charged with three felony charges. (Reckless Driving causing serious injury, Driving While License Suspended causing serious injury, and Failing to stop at scene of accident resulting in serious impairment) Suspect was arraigned on February 7, 2018 and given a bond for $ 15,000 / 10 percent. The victim is recovering.
