2 Shot and Killed in 14800 block of Ashton Rd on Detroit’s Westside

DETROIT, MI – Detroit Police are investigating a double murder where two people were shot and killed in the 14800 block of Ashton Rd on the west side of the city.

At approximately 12:45am on Thursday February 15th, 2018, Detroit Police were called to the scene where they discovered that two people were shot in the 14800 block of Ashton on the west side of the city.

The two victims are two men, brothers, ages 47 and 54.  They were unloading items from a vehicle outside of their home after they returned home from a trip with other family members when they were forced inside at gunpoint by three men in ski masks.

Once inside the two men were shot. A person inside of the house was able to return gunshots towards the suspects. The suspects then fled the scene.

The 54-year-old brother was shot in the chest and was killed. The 47-year-old man was shot in the stomach. He was transported to a local area hospital but did not survive.

One suspect has been taken into custody. The other two have not yet been located. They are described as being two  black men, wearing dark hoodies and ski masks.

Evidence technicians along with homicide detectives were called to the scene. Michigan State Police used K9 units to track the suspects.
